Red line on my desktop

Dear all, could you please help me to solve my problem? Today my iPad asked me to updated the software. Well, before I did that, something very strange happened: suddenly 2 lines appeared on my desktop. I turned it off, tried to find solution at some forums but I was not succeed. I really hope someone help me. Thank you in advance. Regards, Marcos (São Paulo, Brazil)
