My daughters iPod won't come on properly it's seems to be stuck on ios6 can't even put password in , can turn it off but just comes up iOS 6

Please help my daughters iPod is stuck on iOS 6 it will turn off but when it's turned on again it just comes up ios6 , like a home page ... Please help

Try a reset:

Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.
