I have a black bar on my computer telling me what I am doing. I recently downloaded an airport update, Firefox and Java. Have I been hacked?

I have a black bar on my computer which is telling me what I am doing at all times. Right now it is saying "You are currently on a edit text, inside of a HTML content. To enter the web area, press Control-Option-Shift-Down Arrow." It is slowing down my computer. I have to hit my email 3 times to open it. There is a text panel line showing up. I have recently downloaded updates to Java, Airport, and have downloaded Firefox. Have I been hacked?

Press the key combination command-F5 to deactivate VoiceOver. If that doesn't work, proceed as follows.

For OS X 10.7: From the menu bar, select System Preferences Universal Access Seeing VoiceOver: Off

For OS X 10.8: Select System Preferences Accessibility VoiceOver and uncheck the box labeled Enable VoiceOver.
