Please help , I have a MacBook white 2007 edition with , Mac OS leopard , and this just came up I can access anything all I see is my wall paper , are there any commands I can press to fix this as I don't have the discs at hand ?

You don't need the install disks for repairing permissions:
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Later versions of OS X.

Rebooting just means restarting.
That's the think I can't access any of my icon on the desktop page or side bar the screen in blank ,just the finder quit unexpectedly warning
Presumably there is still an off/on button somewhere? 😉
Ha , I ve tried switching it on and off countless times ,with the same result
Might be time to buy new disks then!
