Sprint data service, why cant I send a text?

Is your Sprint account properly provisioned for texts?

Call them and ask. Many wireless carriers have a seperate

fee for text that is in addition to the fee for data.

I have the same problem texting to an android phone with my sprint ipad mini. I can text iPhones only, why?

Text are sent over the voice channels, not data.
