Can't update apps on iPhone 4s

Since the latest update on my iPhone 4S I have six apps that need updating. When I tap update all nothing happens. I have powered down but no joy

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Try a reset or restart of the phone.

What happens when trying to download a single app?

I'm having this problem. Reset Network Settings makes it go away, but when I download a new app, the updates come back. Currently I'm showing that I have 17 updates, but when I go to view them, nothing shows up.
