bluetooth keyboard issues

I have a 2009 aluminum keyboard. I tried to update the firmware, it says it cannot find one to update. It is connected but types really slowly, disconnects often and repeats keys. I'm running Mountain Lion. The firmware version is 0x50. I have a mac pro 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon early 2009

Mac Pro (Early 2009), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), 20 gigs ram

Hello:


It may be a KB problem.


However, try resetting the PRAM and SMC. That cannot hurt, and it might help.
