I am trying to share my Canon MF with my old Xeon running SL from my MBA/Lion.

Previously, I shared the same printer from the Xeon to my spouses XP.

I tried to put the printer on the 1st gen AE to make it a network shared printer.

I extended the USB with a hub, a little ugly, to the AE 1st gen and plugged the Canon MF in. (less than 16')

Now no joy from either computer, though both "see" the printer.

I dl'd Apple Canon printer drivers even though this MF isn't on the "supported" list.

I had previously been on the Canon drivers from their website, dated 2013.

If I go back to wired directly to the MBA/Lion, prints NP, with the "Apple" drivers.

If I go back to wired directly to the Xeon/SL, prints NP, with the "Apple" drivers.

Perhaps the hub in the middle just isn't enough even though the printer is "seen".

And if I try to share back from the Xeon to the MBA (MF connected to the MBA), no go there either.

Do Lion and SL not share?

I can see either Mac on the network from the other.
