Cannot download apps. Says not compatible with this ipod touch or it says need ios 4.3

The second generation iPod touch can't be updated past 4.2.1. Otherwise, connect it to iTunes on a computer and update it from there.

Which probably means you have a 2nd generation iPod Touch. Do you?

If your ipod touch has ios 4.2.1 or earlier then you cannot use apps that require anything higher.

If yiou have a 3rd gen or later you can update.

otherwise you cannot.
