Q: iPod Classic reboots itself every minute, is there a way to restore it?

After populating a new iPod Classic up to 50GB of 160GB space, it reboots itself every minute. No chance for iTunes to recognise so no way to reset/reload the device. 

Any other way anyone can suggest? Mainly to delete the contents before replacing/returning to the shop.
