Q: Why did Chinese symbols come up where it should have said slide to open after downloading ios6?

After downloading iOS6 where it normally says "slide to open" there were Chinese symbols

I opened it anyway and everything seems normal.

I can't imagine this is normal.

Any ideas?

Also, it only did it the first time the iPod turned on after downloading the new os. It says slide to unlock every time now.

- Connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes.

Once I unlocked it everything was English. There's no Chinese anymore. That's kinda what's confusing me, it seems strange
