how do I record onto a macbook pro with no audio input
I'm looking to buy a new macbook pro, but I notice they have only a headphone socket. How can you record from an external device into Logic with no input?

If you are referring to the Retina line:
| Microphone: | Sound In: |
| Details: | Dual internal microphones. Has a single "headphone/optical digital audio output (minijack)" port. Supports Apple iPhone headset with remote and microphone. |
| Sound Out: | Headphone: |
| Details: | Has a single "audio in/out" port. |
USB mic works too.
What if I'm recording from analogue outputs, say from a keyboard or mixer? I would need an input not an internal microphpne wouldn't I? Do I need additional equipment?
What about the non-retina line?
The current 15" MBP has both audio-line-in and audio-out.
The Retina MBPs and the 13" MBP only have audio-out (no audio-in). With these models you will need a USB or Firewire device to connect analog audio equipment. For example, here are some carried by B&H PhotoVideo. Note that if you get Retina MBP and an audio device with a FW interface you will also need to get the Apple Thunderbolt-Firewire adapter.
Egad! All the extras! Thanks Martin.
