recover from time machine with osx 10.6.8

Hi there

I have a Imac i7 with osx 10.6.8 with time machine but I want to buy a new iMac with the newest osx.

My question is:

Will this be a problem if I import all my data from a time machine with a lower osx version? Did anyone try this already?

It's not a problem to migrate your Home folder and third-party applications.

If you connect the two by Firewire cable then boot your old computer into Target Disk Mode you will be able to migrate from the old computer using the Setup Assistant. The Setup Assistant appears when you first power up the new computer.
