Can I delete Flashplayer.xpt

Last week I was unable to successfully install Adobe Flash Player on my Macbook Pro mid 2012. I got a general installation error. I am new to macs only having my MBP for 2 weeks. I called the Apple Support line for help, they checked several of my settings and then guided me thru the install which resulted in the same failure. They sent me to Adobe forum to see if anybody there was also having trouble and I ended up with an Adobe staff person trying to assist me. It was over my head, they tried to connect to be via remote access, it started off and then froze and i coudnt get it going again, it was late, so i just gave up.

I then found I could install google chrome with builtin flash and that has been working fine for me.

So, I have some "peices" on my MBP left from Adobe assisting me and getting part way thru the flashplayer install before I had to give up. I just didnt know enough how to get it thru completion. I have been looking on this forum for ways to delete these peices of that partial install and I have found and dragged flash plugins. I still see flashplayer.xpt. I find this shows up when I do a simple search for flashplayer in my finder spotlight. Is it safe to delete this flashplayer.xpt?

To clarify - I have found and dragged flashplayer.plist, flashplayer.bom, flashplayer installmanager, flashplayer plugin to the trash. I just dont know if i can drag flashplayer.xpt to trash. I have not emptied my trash yet in case that is not safe to delete these. I have tested running youtube videos on google chrome after I deleted these "peices" and chrome is running them fine.

The link you show is the first thing I did when I was unsuccessful and got the general installation error. But since I can still see those peices of the install, I want them all gone if its safe for my MBP. I guess I'm OCD. And no, neither Apple nor Adobe gave me any reason for the failure. Adobe said they had experienced it before with ML. At this point, I am forgetting about it since chrome works for me. And everything else about my MBP is wonderful.

Thank you.
