Ok found it.
The issue was :
Settings: mail, contacts, calendars:Accounts:"my account";Mail days to sync. It was set to 5 so it only showed the last 5 days. I set it to No limit. Then I closed out of mail and restarted it.
Thanks to everyone for the help.

Open the Settings app > Mail, contacts,Calendars. Under the Mail section, tap Show, then set for the number of recent emails you want displayed.
Yes because on my desktop I can see all of the emails but on my ipad I only see the most recent and/or upto the 25 email limit?
Maybe it is something with the server itself. I will ask the adm about it also.
See Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Mail Look at the setting for Show
No I dont.
Weirdest thing, the "show" setting isn't listed on my phone! I'm pretty sure it used to be.
Are you sure that these emails are actually on your email server?
I have a 5S and into the settings/mail,contacts,etc / my account and days to sync. I had Mail Days to Synch with No Limit, 1, 3 days; 1, 2 week 1 month. I selected No limit. Turned off phone, did a hard restart and they are all there from 2012. Yeah!
In settings, mail contacts and calendars there is a choice for up to 100 messages to be displayed.
If you scroll down to the bottom of your Inbox do you not have a Load More Messages button ?
Actually it is up to 1,000.
It is already set at 1000?? Could it be something else?
