wi-fi greyed out, not working, wifi issue
Apple are you aware of this bug?
iOS 6.1 disabled my wi-fi use.
iOS 6.1.1 does not fix it.
How does something like this happen? What are you doing over there is Cupertino?
iOS 6.1.1 4S
iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.1
apple is aware of it and doing nothing it. that's the simple answer to say. i've this issue since from 4 months !! soon after iOS 6
I am having the exact same issue! I am fuming. I'm unsure what apple will do even though I have an appointment on Saturday, hopefully they will replace the phone.
The same problem with my two iPhones 4S.
Firstly, the ridiculous "apple maps".
Now 2 ridiculous updates (no fixes for wi-fi bug).
Apple is becoming a "rotten fruit".
I'm sure that I need an android!!!
Wow, four posters responding all with ridiculous statements because apparently googling for something or at the very least searching the forums is too difficult.
Follow the troubleshooting steps. If the issue is still not resolved, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
I don't believe that diesel vdub sent us this link as a possible solution...
Thanks for your brilliant innitiative, but that is not the problem related to this post.
We need a reply from some apple developer.

That's something you simply will not get in these user to user technical support forums.
If you cannot or willnot help yourself, live with the problem and stop complaining.
Having the same issues wifi no longer greyed out but will not pick up any wifi network now. Would go to Apple store but there isn't one near me according to Apple and phone is out of warranty. Any ideas would be great
Contacted apple today they say I'd have to travel to the nearest apple store to have it looked at which is about 80 miles from me and if they couldn't fix it I'd have to pay approx £150 to change for a new phone because I'm 10 days out of warranty. Thanks apple might take alook at android !!!
It is out of warranty, what do you expect? Any other company would tell you the same thing or more likely that it's up to you to purchase a new device as replacement for one that has failed outside of warranty.
$149 is a steal for an out of warranty replacement compaired to the cost of a new device.
I updated to 6.1.1 2 days ago and now I can not connect to wifi. It says password incorrect on any wifi spot that I am trying to join. My wifi option ain't greed out though. I tried hard reset, resetting all network settings, but to no avail. Frustrating because I am on the road for the next 30 days and I can't connect my iPhone...help
Also updated to 6.1.1 on my 4s from Verizon and have lost all connectivity to wifi. Any wifi. Please advise.
I went to the apple support center in my city and they will replace my iPhone (due to my warranty).
They didn't give me an explanation about this problem, but it seems that the update has damaged the wireless connections in iPhones 4S. We pay an expensive price (specially in Brazil) to have more quality and less annoyance.
2 months ago I thought I could buy 2 iPhones 5, but the frustrating "apple maps" has made me think a little bit more about this decision. When I was almost convinced to buy them, I had this problem related to these updates.
Unfortunately, apple is not more synonymous of quality (mainly with iPhones). So many bugs in a short period of time. As a developper I know that replacement of devices is an annoying action and a ridiculous reactive solution.
"Prevention is always better than reaction."
It's time to change!!!
Don't complain too much my friend, I registered the problem online with Apple Care within the warranttee, then I was assigned a file number and a phone number to call, I followed Apple Care's instruction to back up and restore as a new iPhone but still failed; then I visited the Apple Store without appointment, bad luck, made an appointment and visited again, 'Sorry, it's outside the warrantee, you need to pay CHF209 for a replacement (4S)"......for sure I have started to explore Samsung Galaxy!
