Problem Viewing Security Cameras Remotely

We want to view our security cameras on our smartphones. The problem started when we installed Airport Extreme Base Station. We have a Westell 6100G modem. Our OS is Windows 7. Here is what we've done so far.

Following instructions from Verizon, configured the 6100G to bridge mode so it would only operate as a modem. As per the instructions, we also disabled "Private LAN DHCP Server". In Airport Utility we configured connection sharing to "share a public IP address" and entered port mapping information. And than we lost our internet connection. We reset the 6100G and configured AEBS back to bridge mode and now we have our internet connection back. But of course no remote cameras.

This shouldn't be that hard. What else can we do.

I just noticed that in AirPort Utility - Internet - TCP/IP tab - configure IPv4 "using DHCP" is chosen. I don't know if this makes a difference. Please have patience with me, I am not as technically educated as other and I need to take baby steps.

Still working on port forwarding through Westell. Waiting for a call back. They don't seem to be much help.

So I made these changes: changed Westell to bridge mode, changed connect using to PPPoE, entered port mapping information. I am now accessing the internet through AEBS. When i went into canyouseeme.org it does not see the port. It says firewall or ISP is blocking certain ports. And I get an error message saying I could not see your service on IP address on port (7000). Do you know what I can do to fix this.

I think I see a problem. AirPort Utility will not keep the camera's IP address in port mapping. Whenever I close utitily and repopen it the IP address is not there but another one, which looks like a private IP address.

Also since I disabled the router part of my modem and made other recent changes, I cannot view my cameras on my PC.

Please help.

Yes I am trying to update the router. However, when I hit update button after entered ports I get a message telling me that there were no changes made to the configuration do I still want to continue. When I continue, the router updates and the IP address I entered is not there. The router will not keep the IP address.
