Wireless Internet

Hi all,

I purchased my new iMac two days ago and currently using the internet via an ethernet cable plugged into my Netgear router. However, I would prefer to use the built in wirless connection.

When I went to set up the connection AirPort detected my router but was I was unable to connect as it required a password. I assumed this was the WEP key I was using, but when typed in it came up as 'Password Invalid'. I do not recall setting up any other password on my network. I then disabled the WEP security feature and was able to get on the internet (wirelessly) fine.

I know the wireless connection works through the WEP key as a laptop and a PC are also on my network.

Any help on how to get my iMac working through the WEP key would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Justin

I had the same problem. I think you have to enter a $ followed by the passcode (no space). I called SBC Yahoo DSL support, and it worked. The support guy new exactly what it was before I even got the entire question out. You can try it. SOrry if it doesn't help, I have only had a Mac for a month.

Can't keep mine connected to the wireless connection.
