My sons ipod touch was stolen after christmas he was so happy he even used his own money to buy a good case and then it was stolen he was so upset at present we are pretty much strapped for cash is there any way to track it down?

My sons Ipod touch was stolen after christmas he was so thrilled to receive it he even saved his own money to buy a good protective cover, never thinking that any would steal it. My son is a special needs student so this maskes it harder for him to understand. Is there anyway to track it down. I'll do anything to find it.

As of now I am strapped for cash at present. I did notify the police and school who could not have cared. He did have a friend let him borrow his older one which was so nice. It's great that people still care for others. Any help would be great.
