I also have the same problem. I've been experiencing the problem for the last 5-6 months. A default message appears when I compose new message in the Messages App. I've forced closed the app several times, restarted the phone several times and also upgraded to the latest version but the problem is still there. I'm using iPhone 4. Is your problem solved?

My friend is having the same problem. I have done a full restore and it is still happening.

All i can think of is doing a full restore and setup as a new phone - perhaps the issue is in the backup.

Dont really want to lose SMS history - any ideas if this can be fixed without wiping?

I tried several suggestion including complete backup and restore and nothing worked. I finally ended up doing a factory reset and that fixed it. Of course I had to reinstall all my apps and lost everything that was not synced such as old text messages.

Before doing the factory reset I called Apple support, but they were not helpful at all, even though my phone was no more than 4 months old. So much for the great customer services that apple brags about.
