This action from moving the file to the desktop is taking for 3 days already. How do I fix it?? If you're wondering the file is only 36 bytes. I tried to move it to the trash, and then moved it out, so the 2 windows are the same file action.

Try starting in Safe Mode and see if the problem(s) still occurs?
Restart holding the "shift" key.

If it took longer than 36 sec's I would suspect a problem already.
Have you done the SafeBoot as macjack has suggested above? What else have you tired here??
