Feb 13, 2013 11:10 AM in response to TanKGirl13by Knucklesmac,Hello and welcome to the support community
Which version of the iBook do you own?
You can select from this list http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/index-ibook.html
If your wireless router encryption is set to WPA2 and you own a iBook G3 then it won't connect.
The older iBooks are unable to connect to any network with a security encryption of WPA.
If you own a G4 iBook, then you at need an firmware update to you airport card.
Let us know which model you own and what encryption type is set on your wireless.

Feb 13, 2013 12:48 PM in response to TanKGirl13by dalstott,You may need to get an external adapter if your iBook has an Airport card (802.11b) which can not be upgraded to Airport Extreme card (802.11n/g). I needed to do this with an iBook Clamshell equiped with the original Apple Airport card from 1999.
