I have MBP with iDVD and I'm running OSX 10.6.8. I have been trying to burn a DVD which is in mp4 format and plays in Quicktime and iDVD. However, after rendering the error message pops up. I am not very computer savvy, any clearly explained help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi

which is in mp4 format and plays in Quicktime

No guarantee at all - in QT-player open Inspector [cmd+I] and read

    Video format (Codec) : nnnnnnnnnnn

    Frame rate : yyyyyyyyyy

.mp4 is just a cxontainer (no video format / codec)

    What does they read ?

Did You try to - Save as a DiskImage ? If not do so

    • Does this play OK with DVD-tool in Your Mac ?

    If OK - Then

What brand of DVD did You use ?

What type of DVD did You use ?

Free space avail. on Your Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk. How much ?

Burn Speed - Did You set it down ( BEST - IS NOT BEST ! )

Thanks for replying but none of those helped. I eventually went to the Mac store and a very helpful and forthright Genius told me it'd be better if I just discard QT and instead use HandBrake. I did as suggested and HandBrake worked beautifully.
