I need help with my Ipod touch 4th restoring to factory settings

I have posted several posting because I need help but somehow everybody seems to ignore the subject or they just don't want to go there. I wonder why.

Anyways, I'm in critical bind. I still have iTune 10.7 running on my iMac 10.6. However, when I try to synch my Ipod to my Mac I get a message that I need to restore my Ipod to factory settings.

The thing that I'd like to know if I restore to factory settings if I could select which verions iTune I could select. I have 10.7 installed and also have a copy in TM.

I don't want to use iTune V.11

You cannot use the Backup in TM... That is not how it works...

You will however be able to use the iTunes on your iMac.

thanks for clarifying it to me. But could you at least tell me the following.

If I go ahead to restore my iPod can I select which version iTune I could restore it. Because I don't want to install V.11.

Should be fine using iTunes 10.7

Still works fine on an iMac of mine running OS X 10.6.8

No I was referring about the options available if I choose to restore the ipod if I can select which version iTune I could choose. i don't want to be foreced to V.11

Why do you think this...?

The choice to update or not is yours to make.

You can also just uninstall the current version of iTunes and reinstall an earlier version.

I appreciate your input, but you still haven't told me how to restore the iPod w/o getting V. 11. So far for what I read it says that if I choose to restore back to factory settings that it will install the latest version of iTune. Is there any way that I can overide this? According to you, it sounds like I could but still you haven't share with me how to do it

Here is the thing I have iTune 10 installed but when I tried to synch the iPod is when I get the message that I have to restore it to the factory setting. I'm willing to go along with it provided that I can select iTune 10.7. I have it installed in my backups.

Just install iTunes version 10.7 on your comnputer and restore your iPod. The iPod will be updated to the latest iOS version available when restored. iTunes on your coputer ill not be updated or anything when you restore the iPod.

I did do that and I was surprised to find out that I had the option. So I restored from one of my backups, but that's when I had some problem. I tried to synch my ipod but it only worked for videos and pictures but not my contacts or music.

I gave in and called AppleCare. As expected which I already knew it. The only solution (of course) to upgrade to iTune V.11. At first they told me that I had to upgrade 10.6 to 10.8, which I wasn't ready.

To keep it short, I installed 11 not holding my breadth, now I have another issue my iPod turns on all the time even when is resting on a table
