iPad 2 and iOS 6.1 update - wifi problems

I updated my iPad 2 to the newest iOS software (6.1) and all was fine. However, if the iPad goes to "sleep" i.e. locks. It loses its connection with the wifi. Once I wake it up, it's fine but it takes a few seconds to click back in. It was fine with previous software updates. Any ideas?
