MacBook Air 2009 battery draining rapidly.

The charge on my MacBook Air 2009 has been draining rapidly, last night I charged it overnight and this morning when I turned it on the MacBook is only charged to 11%. Any idea what is causing this? My MacBook says that the battery condition is 'Normal' and the MacBook was off whilst it was charging.

I've literally only just had a new HardDrive installed so I'd really hate to have to have a new battery as well.

Well, she already said that the battery status is "normal". In this case, we don't need to ckeck the cycle count.

If the computer was connected to the charger overnight and it was at 11% in the morning, then it would seem that it wasn't charging at all.

For troubleshooting, I would suggest to connect the charger, then go to "About this Mac", "More Information", "System Report", "Power Supply" and see if it is charging at all. It should say "Charger connected = yes" and "Charging = yes"

If it doesn't, there could be a problem with the MagSafe connector, the cable, or the charger itself.
