Mac Book Pro Retina Display Dead Pixel Issue.

I have the following: Mac Book Pro 15-inch 2.3GHz with Retina display 16GB. bought this when they 1st came out. last week I have noticed that I have a dead pixel. as it does not change colour and shows white when looking on a black screen. i have cleaned my screen and it is still there.

I have a 3 year warranty with this iteam.

I am just wondering what my options are. will apple fix or replay my macbook pro or be like it is not coverd under warranty as it is 1 pixel. as I have heard people have this issue with windows PCs.

If you can see it on the retina display then it is more than one pixel and is probably a cluster of pixels out. The only thing is take it in to an Apple Store. If it is enough pixels they will most likely offer to repair the display which would be them switching the display for a new one.

It seems that there might be a construction flaw on the macbook retina?

I bought a top level macbook pro with retina 16 gb 15 " about 5 month ago , after 3 weeks i noticed dead pixels on the screen, i went to my local store and first they wanted to fix it but later gave me a new... So far so good.. but unfortunatley same issue accured about a month later .. went back to the store...got a new one..

Now i am on my third and go figure... dead pixels!!!! Serioulsy i have been a mac user for quite some years now, and newer experinced such manufacture flaw, so know i ask the question , what to do next? ?????

I'm the same, I have a 13" Macbook pro retina display and had dead pixels in the first few months as well as faulty cooling fans, they replaced the screen and the fans and it worked fine for a few months and now I have found more dead pixels 😟😟😟. My nearest Apple store is about 40 mins away, the fact that they don't pick it up is a joke. Very poor customer service. Kind of making me wish I had of just bought a cheap windows laptop. Would of saved me a lot of hastle.

I also have a MacBook Pro retina 15" and am on my second screen and experiencing more dead pixels. Apple should have a recall for these issues. They even switched manufacturers because of experiencing many issues with having to replace the screens. When you pay the added price for a so called advanced computer you would expect it to be a quality device. When you go in to have your screen replaced make sure that the manufacturer of the display is in fact the Samsung version and not LG. Sansung is known to have less issues than with the original LG version. However my screen was replaced with the Samsung version, so this shows that they are also not invinsible.

to find out what screen you have on your device type the following into your terminal application:

ioreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

if the code says LSN it is the samsung version

if the code says LP it will be the LG version.

I also have this problem with my mbpr a cluster of dead pixels in the center of the screen. my worranty has just rung out. Bu I was going to buy apple cere any way so when I get It im going to take my mac to my local apple store and get them the replace my sceen. or give me a new mac. it seems that if its lke more then 2 pixels they replace it. also mine is in the middle if the screen. If yours has around the middle they are more lightly the replace it.
