iPhone 4 photos jumping to another image

When I click on a photo in my iphone 4 (album or photo library) it selects that image for about half a second then jumps to another image somewhere in my phone. It's like its on auto random picture select. Any idea why? It means I can't select a photo to send to anyone as you never know which one is going to get selected. Thanks
