Outlook for Mac 2011 won't rebuild Identity
Since upgrading from Snow Leopard I have been unable to rebuild my Office 2011 Main Identity. As a result, I cannot open Outlook. I have tried the suggestions posted in this forum. They have NOT worked. I understand the problem is in restoring the data from Time Machine. Here is my sequence of events: (1) did an upgrade in the Apple Store but then had problem with wifi connectivity - no Time Machine restore so Outlook worked fine; (2) backed up to Time Machine; (3) did an erase & install upgrade in the Apple Store; (4) restored back up from Time Machine - problem with Outlook.
I have tried moving the backed up folders (all and partial were tried) to the Main Identity - no luck. I have tried creating a new identity and then moving the backed up folders - no luck. I have tried total restore of back up from Time Machine - no luck. I started to try the suggestion about use of sudo command in Terminal, but elected not to proceed when prompt sounded ominous.
Worse, I now have the wifi issue again - freezes after a short period of time and have to turn off wifi and restart. Needless to say, all download / work in progress is lost.
I am wondering if only solution is to have Apple Store re-install Snow Leopard, then do the back up from Time Machine, then export data, then re-install Mountain Lion, then do new identity, then do import. That is a monumental undertaking.
