when I try to open a pdf file downloaded using safri all I get is a dark gray page. If I right click the download button and press "download the file to downloads" it sometimes downloads the file though more often downloads the html page. If I do the same thing in other browsers such as chrome it works fine. Help please

A standard thing to try:
Go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and trash all Adobe stuff.
tried it but no good I am afraid. Is Flash player plugin considered to be Adobe because I didnt get rid of that?
