ORANGE TO EE MIGRATION VIA CARPHONE WAREHOUSE - EE SIM NOT VALID ?

i bought the iphone 5 on orange from the carphone warehouse in november 2012.
i then had a call from orange asking if i would like to migrate to EE to have 4G services etc.
i agreed and my new EE sim arrived in the post stating simply insert your new sim and well do the rest.
when i put the new EE sim card in my phone it says sim not valid.
iv rang orange and EE alot for the past 5 days now saying to wait up to 48 hours and restore iphone on itunes and it will say congratulations, iphone unlocked.
its not working for me and my orange sim says no service and calls from this number are barred.
any help is much appreciated as i have no idea what to do next.

EE told me i need the iphone unlocking and that apple needs to update my itunes but iv waited alot of 48 hours.😐

sadly Orange will demonstrate why the always sit at the bottom

of Customer sat surveys

As advised you will have to wait on them ,they hold all the cards.

I am surprised they are offering at this point as the iP5 is still relatively new

I haven't heard of any UK carriers unlocking an iPhone 5

O2 will not and they are the easiest and quickest to offer unlocking

and usually it is 6 months from first shipment og a new model

As EE now effectively owns Orange if nothing happens try complaining to them
