Video capture from JVC GY DV-500 into final cut is goofed up!

Hey.
I'v got 2 JVC GY DV-500 camcorders. When I try to capture video from either of these as a source deck, video in final cut 4.5 is sped up and audio is garbled. However, playback directly from the cameras into a monitor is perfect. Any ideas as to what the trouble might be?

Is this a PAL/NTSC issue? Trying to capture from a PAL camera in an NTSC project or the other way around?

Shane,
Good idea, however playback monitor is NTSC only as are the cameras which play back great, however it just won't capture correctly into final cut using the DV-500s. Nutty!

Have you confirmed that your camera output settings are correct?

Hey Kevin,
Using firewire out of the camera into the mac and don't believe there's anything to conform, but I'll check the camera manual again.

I've used those cameras and can't think of a particular setting that would cause this behavior, but good to check anyway.

Also, click on 'My Settings' at top right of this page and fill in your system specs...see mine below for example.

We can provide better info when we know exactly what software/hardware you're using.
