Why do I get Error messages from Youtube videos or "video not available" when I use an IPAD 2? I can see videos on my Mac computer.
iPad 2, iOS 6.1.1
Are you using the youTube App? (from the App Store)
Some videos might only be available in Flash which runs on the Mac but is not supported on the iPad.
I tried the Youtube app.....does not work
If I get an email with a link to youtube.....I get the error message.......
The youTube App works fine for me. What do you mean "does not work". What happens?

It think I understand the problem. You are trying to open YouTube videos directly from a link embedded in an email, which is going to open it up in Safari. As everyone above has said, it's not going to work, because YouTube videos can only be viewed within the YouTube App, NOT within Safari. Not sure we can explain this in any different way than that.
OK..again...when I use the YOUTUBE app to open a video....ANY video......I get: "Loading error"

You may have a firewall in your network which is blocking access to the youTube servers. Check this out.
Indeed it might be your firewall (especially if you are trying to access YT on your workplace via the Mac/iPad). A similar problem cuold occur with the YT app if you are trying to view videos in China.
I found the fix.....change the DNS to the following addresses:
208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
I am now able to view all videos on Youtube.......
Interesting I did not find help on this Apple support site.
Same now works for my Apple TV.....I can for the first time view Youtube on it...!
