I want a remote

Check the app store for any apps by your television manufacture. however, since most remotes use IR, which the iPad doesn't support, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

The only app that I have seen that comes close to working for this requires a IR accessory for the TV on order for it to work. You probably just want to keep using your TV remote.

Some cable companies offer apps that work with thier cable boxes that allow to to program you DVR, watch content and change channels - so depending upon the cable provider that you use - if you even have one - you might want to look into something like this.

Certainly not full functioning, but kind of fun to play around with and you can switch channels after the TV is turned on.
