App Stops when Smart Cover is Closed ?!

I have a couple of apps I'd like to use to control the streaming of music from a DLNA NAS to an Airplay speaker.

The two apps work fine but music stops as soon as I close the Smart Cover (with both apps).

I don't need nor do I want to have my iPad's screen on all the time.

Is this a case of bad apps or is there a setting I should know about?

Thanks.

Apple's own Music app works with the smart cover closed. Notifications also work when the cover is closed. If those apps followed the interface guidelines, they should also work when the cover is closed, unless there's some reason to not do so.

I don't think there's a setting, but you might want to contact the developer of the Apps. Which apps are these?

Thanks for the quick reply OrangeMarlin.

It is true that Apple's own Music app works fine with the cover closed as well as a couple others I have used.

However, Good Player and media:connect which are ones of the few that I found that can play "playlists" from my DLNA NAS do not work with the cover closed.

I have contacted both developers and have received no answer yet.

I'm guessing that they did not follow Apples Human interface guidelines (some Apps refuse to do so for numerous reasons, among which is laziness).

I tried Pandora and a couple of other radio apps and they stay on. What I did find was that any app that shows video (Hulu or Netflix) shut off when the cover closes. Is it possible your two apps use video of some sort?
