Q: When burning CDs tommy am mini and when they are uploaded to the cloud are they compressed

After burning a cd to the Mac mini, if uploaded to the cloud, is it then compressed when played

    Basically yes. 

     

    To be more specific, if you subscribe to iTunes Match, and you have a song in a lossless format (WAV, AIFF, ALAC) in your library, it will be transcoded to AAC/256 when uploaded to the cloud.  If you play or download that cloud copy, yes it will be compressed as compared to your original version.
