I purchased Homeland Season 1 on iTunes in January. Since then I have updated my Apple TV software (today) and now it no longer appears in my "Purchased" TV shows on the apple TV. I can see the purchase history on my iTunes account on my Mac but cannot download any of the episodes and get an error message saying that i have not purchased them. I have talked to 3 people at Applecare who could not really help me. I rebooted the AppleTV as they suggested that did not work. I contacted iTunes support via email who basically blew me off. Any suggestions?

I am happy to say that you can download many of your previous iTunes Store purchases through iTunes in the Cloud. You may be able to download this particular purchase using this feature. You will need the latest version of iTunes. Installing the latest version of iTunes will not affect your library or any items in your account. It’s available on the Apple website:

Tyler, please note that the Apple TV associated with your account is a 2nd generation model. This model does not have an internal hard drive and therefore must stream content.
If you don't see what you want to download in the list, it may have been removed or modified since you purchased it and is no longer available. The iTunes Store is not responsible for the loss of purchases. We encourage customers to regularly back up their libraries to an external hard disk.
