Feb 13, 2013 9:54 PM in response to rush13.paby sberman,I'm completely confused, because the HT4356 article you attached lists no model that sounds anything like an HP Hotspot 1218 as an AirPrint eligible printer
So I'm wondering ... are you really using AirPrint to print your document, or might you be using some other print app?

Feb 13, 2013 10:04 PM in response to sbermanby rush13.pa,From my notes app, when I click on print, it says 'finding printer' and then detects my hp1218. Then I select that printer and put no. Of copies as 1. The then click print. Ideally the printer should print just one copy but it keeps on printing multiple copies. I am using iOS 6. I check the instruction manual for hp1218 and it says that the printer supports apple airprint. I don't have any particular app installed for printing.

Would it ever stop by itself? If you loaded a ream of paper and let it keep printing, would it endlessly just keep printing the same note?
Anyway, as a first step, try resetting your iPad. Hold the on/off and home buttons down together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
You will not lose any data doing this.

Feb 13, 2013 11:44 PM in response to sbermanby rush13.pa,What I mean by printing multiple copies is that I tried to print one page and it printed about 12 copies of the same content. Then I ran out of patience and cancelled the print job from my printer. I'm sure it would have printed more copies if I wouldn't have cancelled it. I'll try resetting the iPad and try again.

Since your printer doesn't show up on Apple's list of AirPrint printers, I suggest you be sure to visit HP's website and check that your printer is running the very latest firmware / software.

The Hp hotspot 1218 printer do support AirPrint although it wrongly missing on Apple's documentation:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02814760&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
This is a known issue with iOS 6, HP currently investigating this behavior and it should be fix on the next firmware update.
For now you may manually cancel the print job from the Print Center or power cycle the printer as a workaround, as you may find as listed below:
