If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.

Your error 4280 denotes a "Optical Power Calibration area error"

First you will rightclick "My COmputer" on the start button in windows. Select Properties>Hardware Tab>Device manager. In the list double click "IDE/ATA controler" and rightclick "Secondary IDE Channel" then select uninstall. close out of everything and reboot, this will force windows to reinstall the IDE.

Now we will look for the needed updates to your PC, what exact brand and model of PC do you have? HP Pavillion 8976, Dell Dimintion 2400 or what?
