I'd like to see how many of my songs are eligible for itunes match BEFORE I spend my money. If there's not enough of them, then I won't sign up.
Is there a way to see which would be eligible without signing up?

All songs are eligible. If it can't match them, it will upload them (up to 25,000 total non-purchased songs). This does not count against your iCloud quota.
OK, let me rephrase it... eligible for matching.
I assume then, that you want to use Match to upgrade your collection to 256 kbs. I don't know of any way to check in advance what will be matched, and it's also very fussy about matching. in my case, it uploaded a lot of stuff I know is in their library.

I also guess I was wrong. Very old tracks will not be uploaded unless you spoof Match in this way.
As ejpre says all the music In your iTunes library is eligible for iTunes Match, as long as it meets certain criteria. However if you are asking if you can find out in advance what will match or not then that is not possible.
I would think Apple would sell more iTunes Match subscriptions if iTunes would let you know "13,524 of your 15,327 songs can be upgraded to 256 kbs if you subscribe to iTunes Match".
Hi,
A lot depends on the source of songs in your library. If they have been ripped from recent CD's, downloads from Amazon, 7 Digital etc have a very high possibilty of matching all tracks per CD. Some track will not for some unknown reason even though they are clearly available in itunes.
Olders CDs from 80's may happlily match but with the release of remastered versions, the chance of complete matches are reduced
If you have vinyl rips, a lot will depent on the quality whether they"ll match or not.
I have a large collection of music. Excluding Purchases I have around 82/83% success rate. The 10% of the non matches are just not available in digital format. A small number have versions in itunes store but don't match because the length of my version does not match the itunes version.
