Help me switch!

I've been reading through these discussions and I've noticed that quite a few people are posting that their new iMacs are freezing. How unusual is this? I'm about this close to switching (picture my fingers about a millimeter apart) but I have become a bit concerned after reading these posts.

I hope this post is taken in the spirit it was given.

pending, Windows XP, help me switch?

My bad.....I didn't realize Eric had provided a hyperlink. Thanks! I went to the site and it appears that their prices are much more reasonable. Are the sticks of RAM fairly easy to install in an iMac?

BTW....I suppose I simply never took the time to learn how to code web pages or anything for that matter. Eh....there are never enough hours in the day!

The Core Duo iMacs have two RAM slots under that door on the bottom. As Masna said, remove two screws, remove the door, take out the stock RAM, and add the new RAM. Piece of cake.

Be sure to hold onto that stock RAM. Apple has a history of blaming user installed RAM for problems should you have to take it in for service. Besides, if something does happen to your Mac and it needs replacing, you don't want your RAM dissappearing.

There are 2 slots available,

So if you ever plan to go more than a gig, be sure to buy a 1 gig stick and just have the 1.5, otherwise if you choose to go higher down the road you will need (2) new sticks of ram since you will have (2) at 512.

I just bought 3 iMacs last week for a station at my business (2) 17's and (1) 20" and they are quite amazing machines.

Oddly enough Windows seems to run faster on a mac than it does on a PC lol..

Cheers!

Good advice. I always tell people to max out one slot when doing an upgrade also. Helps keep costs down long term.

I have read that too and found it very interesting myself.

I guess it goes to show that Macs are better. Not just with OS X, but with Windows too - LOL!
