I can't access the Internet or Facebook or anything while I'm on a phone call, why?

Do you have Verizon or Sprint? Those carriers don't support voice and data at same time.
It's a carrier feature. In the US ATT offers this service while Verizon and Sprint do not. The difference is ATT is a GSM network and Verizon and Sprint are CDMA networks. Simultaneous Voice and data is not possible CDMA networks. Is your service provider GSM or CDMA?
