Looking for new mouse to go with Mac OS 10.8

I am looking for a new mouse to go with my Mac Mini. I have been looking at the Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500. However, in looking at Microsoft's website, they say that the mouse's software is only compatible up to Mac OS 10.7. So, I was wondering if anyone is using this mouse with 10.8 and if they can tell me if the software is compatible. (Yes, I already checked with MS. Their people were no help. They told me to check with Apple.)

If that is not going to work with my computer, then does anyone have a recommendation for a good USB, 5-button mouse that will work with Mac OS 10.8?

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Hi Rock_Hound,

You're smart to do research first. I bought the logitech mouse (500 something) I think it was 510. THe software didn't work and the tilt wheel didn't work with this computer running mountain lion. I had to return it.

The real issue is the driver. Logitech's drivers are notoriously buggy and while I've used Microsoft mice without incident, the solution I found is the Steermouse driver (http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/). It will cost you $20, but it works with a wide variety of mice and I've never had any trouble with it in the 7 years I've been using it.

Something I forgot to mention is that I am trying to keep the cost down. I really only have about $25 to spend on this.
