I've set up an Apple Time Capsule in a home environment to handle backups for several Macs.  I've also set up a D-Link NAS in parallel located elsewhere in the house.  On my own Mac, a late 2012 Mac mini running OS X 10.8.2, I am able to add the D-Link  from within the Time Machine prefs pane (Add or Remove Backup Disk).  Time Machine alternates its backup chores between the two.  However on another Mac mini (early 2009) that is running Snow Leo 10.6.8, the option to add a second volume doesn't appear.  Is this dependant on the OS version?  If not, how can I add a second volume to the list of backup disks?  Or is there a way of copying the Pref Pane from my Mac to the other one?  Upgrading the OS isn't an option at this point, though it will eventually need to be done.
