Transferring Camera Roll photos from iPhone to PC

Hi,

Is there a correct procedure for moving pictures located in my iPhone's Camera Roll to my PC? I see my iPhone connected as a device and I can browse photos from My Computer, but I'm wondering what you guys do - cut, copy or something else?

I know it's a question years ago, but I want to post something useful.

Now, the latest iTunes 12 is nice to use. And you can see this to learn how to transfer photos from iPhone to laptop.

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you really don't want to use iTunes, I will recommend you some 3rd party transfer tool which are useful and powerful on managing data between iPhone and laptop. Like TunesGo and FonePaw which are popular at present. They can transfer files between iOS devices and computers(Windows and Mac). And you can find tutorials on their websites, avoid spam, you can google it.

Photos are not offloading by the iTunes syncing process. They are only "onloaded" to an IOS device that way.

The first thing that happens on both Windows and Macs is that they recognize the device as a camera, when you connect with a USB cable, and ask if you want to off load it to Photomanager (windows) or iPhoto (Mac). It then asks if you want to delete the photos in your device. You normally say yes to both of theses requests

If you want, then you start up iTunes to begin any syncing with iTunes music, contacts, and photo/photoalbums tabs you have set-up.

If you still need to transfer/copy photos form iPhone 4s/5 to computer, you can try some thrid party app: vibosoft iphone/ipad/ipod to computer transfer.

Step by step toturial to transfer photos/pictures from iPhone 5/5s/5c to PC:

1.Connect the device to your computer. iPhoto should automatically launch into its import window with your device's images and videos listed.

2.Click Import All. If you want only some of your images imported, select the images and videos you would like to import into iPhoto, then click the Import Selected button.

3.When the photos finish importing, you will be presented with a dialog asking whether you'd like to delete the original photos from your Camera Roll. Click Delete Photos.

Hi friends, you need to use some tool or software to sync iPhone photos to pc. I use MobiKin Assistant for iOS to backup my iPhone data to computer. It work well and can sync data from iPhone to computer easily. Whst's more, you can transfer more than 10 types of files from iOS device to computer, like call history, voice memos, books, contacts, text messages, media files, etc to pc from iPhone device. There are some steps to transfer camera roll photos from iPhone to computer

Step 1: Download, install and run the program on computer

First, you need to install iTunes to your computer. Then connect iPhone to pc through USB data cale. The program will automatic detected and scan your iPhone device.

Step 2: Preview and choose photos as you need

Click "Camera Roll" to preview and choose pictures as you like. There is a quickly search function. You can find the target photos by the function. Wait to export.

Step 3: Export photos from iPhone to computer

Click "Export" button to export and save photos from iPhone to computer. You can also export all photos by click "File" --> "export all photos". That's all. Hope this helps!

I show you my way to transfer photos from iPhone to computer:

  • Plug in your iPhone to your computer.
  • If iTunes fires up automatically, close it.
  • Navigate to My Computer (or the icon that takes you to the disk drives)
  • Double-click on the iPhone drive that shows up in the list
  • Now, navigate to /Internal Storage/DCIM/
  • The folders within this folder (DCIM) contains the photos from all albums on your iPhone
  • Just copy and paste them in any other folder on your computer’s hard drive.
