Stuck on Grey Screen

I need to run my restore CD, I have followed all the advice on Apple

Tried booting to DVD drive holding down the C and Option Key ( Alt)

I have tried booting in Safe Boot mode and it still just hangs

I have disconnected any peripherals . I Use a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse and have had no issues. Also tried a direct cable mouse with no luck.

My 17 yr old tried installing MACOS Leopard he downloaded off the internet on some pirate site and they system now just hangs. I have looked around the web and I seem to have tried everything. Any ideas? system was running fine with no issues before this boondoggle.
