My ipod was a gift and had music downloaded. How do I download music from the Itunes installed on my pc?
My ipod is sync'd to my son's pc, which he no longer has. How do I now sync my ipod to my pc so I can download music from my itunes?

Follow these instructions:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
To sync:
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPodgo to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.
