Trying to restore imac from snowleopard disk. "select the disk where you want to install Mac osx" is blank

Trying to restore imac from snowleopard disk. "select the disk where you want to install Mac osx" is blank. Do I need to restore my hardrive? If so, any suggestions? I think the hardrive is bare, I just want a clean install.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.3)
