You can post your question here, go to an Apple store, or call them. I do know, sometimes, they refer people here, so you may want to go ahead and ask your question...
If you've had your iPod for less than 90 days, you can phone technical support. You only get one free phone call within those 90 days. Anything afterwards, they become fee based.
I still think it's best to buy the Applecare protection plan. (thats $59)
Sorry, but typing on a computor and waiting for a response is not my idea of customer service. Perhaps my age is showing, but I long for the days when you could actually talk to someone rather than banging on a keyboard.
