Flash Player 11.5 update, and 11.6 has causing iSight webcam problems

My operating system is Mac OS X 10.7. Right after updating flash player to 11.5, I had problems using my iSight webcam on chat roulette-like sites. Flash Player support suggested unistalling and reinstalling an earlier flash player. But when I did this, the early flash player stopped webpage media content from being played due to some security issues in using those earlier flash players.

So I went back to the latest flash player, 11.5. Now, after updating to 11.6, I am noticing that some you tube videos do not play. I am wondering if there is some other cause of these problems, after my husband told me he never has this issue with his Mac Book Pro.

Has any one else experienced such issues with their flash player?

I've not had this problem. However, a bad Flash updater download or install could cause problems.

If you have not already done so, restart Mac and try Flash again. A simple restart often clears up minor issues. If the problem remains, consider any of the following you have not already tried:

• Click your Mac's  > System Preferences... > Flash Player > Advanced > Updates:"Check Now" menu command to see if a Flash update is needed.

• Reinstall Flash Player: Regardless of whether you have the latest version, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
and download a fresh copy of the latest Flash Player that is compatible with your system

Use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then follow Adobe's install instructions here:

Be sure to uninstall your current Flash player before installing the new one.

Repair permissions again immediately following installation of the updated Flash player. Then test whether your cam is working.

• Check your Flash Player Preferences configuration in your Mac's  > System Preferences... > Flash Player > Camera and Mic settings. They may be blocking Flash on a system-wide basis.

• Check your individual Flash settings to be certain they are correct:http://tinyurl.com/5kjv3

• If you have added Safari Extensions or third-party "toolbars" to Safari, check their support sites for possible known issues.

* Try a different browser (example: Firefox, etc.) to see if your cam works correctly with it.
